Sunnyvale takeout is a geography quiz with a sauce bar at the end. You can get a proper Vietnamese drip coffee from a family-run shop that knows its bread, or you can watch a UFC fight clear out for a reggaeton club night at Fuego.
The range here stretches from Persian koobideh with actual fire char to a riceburrito that pairs purple rice with milk tea soy milk. I have eaten my way through strip malls, ordered off self-serve screens, and stared at a back kitchen I now pretend not to have seen.
That last part is on me. The list below is the honest scorecard.
Kurated Kitchens
☎️ +1408-462-2276
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Clean, modern, self-order screens
Global menu with creative combos
Fresh presentation, proper management
Solid chicken, buttery buns
Convenient counter service setup
I walked into Kurated Kitchens expecting another assembly-line bowl joint. The self-order screens are a nice touch, clean and snappy. Got the chicken combo, and it came out fast. The buns were buttery, the chicken actually had flavor. That's rarer than you'd think. The global menu is a fun gamble, some combos work, some don't. But the management clearly cares about presentation. Nothing sits under a heat lamp too long. It's a convenient counter service spot for a quick, decent dinner. I'd go back, but I'd skip the fusion experiments and stick to the basics. Solid execution overall.

Roberto's Cantina

🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Good food, reasonable drinks
Friendly, attentive service
Great for sports viewing
Pleasant outdoor seating
Roberto's Cantina is the kind of place you stumble into during a UFC fight and leave with a full stomach. The food is good, not transcendent, but good. Drinks are reasonably priced, which matters. Service was friendly, attentive without hovering. Outdoor seating is pleasant if you can handle the Sunnyvale breeze. The big screens dominate the room, so you'll catch every angle of the game. I grabbed a burrito and a beer, watched the crowd go wild, and felt fine about my choices. It's not a destination, but it's a reliable pit stop. That counts for something.

Xiaoman Riceburrito

🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Milk tea soy milk wins
Crispy texture, fun to share
Online order, quick pickup
Purple rice, less filling
Xiaoman Riceburrito is a weird name and a weirder concept, but it works. I ordered online, which was quick, and the pickup was painless. The milk tea soy milk is the real winner here. Sweet, creamy, unexpected. The riceburrito itself is crispy and fun to share. The purple rice is lighter than the white stuff, less filling, which means you can eat more. The texture contrast is the hook. It's not a heavy meal, more of a snack with ambitions. I'd grab one before a movie or a long drive. Just don't expect traditional flavors. This is its own thing.

Chelokababi Persian Cuisine
☎️ +1408-737-1222
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Top-notch lamb and bread
Elegant service from Shani
Charming old-world Persian decor
Juicy, perfectly grilled Koobideh
Unique Fesenjun with tangy twist
Chelokababi is the old-school Persian spot that makes you feel like you've stepped into someone's living room, if that living room had excellent lamb. Shani took our order with a kind of elegant formality you don't see anymore. The koobideh was juicy, perfectly grilled, with char that actually tasted like fire. The bread was top-notch, warm and chewy. The Fesenjun was a surprise, tangy and rich, a different take than I'm used to. The decor is charming, old-world, a little faded but intentional. This is the kind of takeout you savor, not scarf down. Worth the trip across town.

Asian Momo House
☎️ +1650-526-8627
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Quick momo pickup spot
Mixed fried rice reviews
Inconsistent chef quality
Friendly staff sometimes
Skip if seeking flavor
Asian Momo House is a quick momo pickup, and that's about all it is. The staff can be friendly, when they're not rushed. But the food is a gamble. The fried rice got mixed reviews from my group, and I see why. One batch was fine, the next was bland. The momos themselves are just okay. If you're craving dumplings and nothing else is open, fine. But if you want flavor, this isn't the place. The inconsistency is the problem. One visit, the chef nails it. The next, you're chewing through dough with no filling excitement. I'll skip it next time and drive the extra mile.

Greek Spot
☎️ +1408-900-8239
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Pleasant, well-cooked meats
Quiet, small indoor-outdoor seating
Decent gyros with fresh toppings
Well-seasoned hummus and lentil soup
Greek Spot is a quiet little hole-in-the-wall with decent gyros and a surprisingly good lentil soup. The meats are cooked well, not dry, which is the baseline most places miss. The gyro toppings are fresh, the tzatziki is solid. Hummus is well-seasoned, maybe a bit heavy on the garlic but that's a plus in my book. The seating is small, indoor-outdoor, and you won't find a crowd most weeknights. It's the kind of place you go to avoid the lunch rush. Nothing fancy, but nothing broken either. A reliable, unpretentious lunch. I'd come back for the soup alone.

Falafel STOP
☎️ +1408-381-3046
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Chicken kebab with hummus plate
Generous portions of unique sides
Busy kitchen signals fresh food
Falafel balls pair exceptionally well
Worth returning to soon
Falafel STOP earns its caps-lock name because it's a stop, not a destination. But the chicken kebab with hummus plate is generous, the portions are solid, and the sides are unique. The kitchen was busy when I ordered, which is a good sign. Fresh food, clearly. The falafel balls are the standout, they pair exceptionally well with the pickles and the sauce. I've had better, but I've had way worse. The place feels like a working kitchen, not a showroom. That's fine by me. I'll return soon, mostly because I want to try the other plates. This one earned a repeat visit.

Seapot Hot Pot & Bar
☎️ +1650-881-2822
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Two-in-one hotpot and BBQ.
Affordable AYCE lunch pricing.
Huge sauce bar with ponzu.
Fresh fruit, limited dessert.
Seapot Hot Pot & Bar does the two-in-one thing, hotpot and BBQ, and it works better than it should. The AYCE lunch pricing is affordable, especially for what you get. The sauce bar is massive, and the ponzu is a winner. You'll spend 10 minutes just mixing your dipping sauce. That's part of the fun. The fresh fruit is a nice touch, but the dessert selection is limited, so don't save room. The place gets loud, but that's the energy. For a hotpot place in Sunnyvale, this is a solid bet. Just pace yourself, or you'll be rolled out of there.

Sourdough & Co
☎️ +1408-685-2014
🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Best pastrami in town
Toasted sourdough baguette perfection
Thin-sliced meat done right
Solid Italian, minus mortadella
Hygiene leaves much to be desired
Sourdough & Co has the best pastrami in town, and I won't argue with myself on that. The toasted sourdough baguette is perfect, crunchy outside, soft in. The meat is thin-sliced, done right, piled high. The Italian sandwich is solid too, but they skipped the mortadella, which is a shame. That's a half-step. But the pastrami is the reason to come. The hygiene, though, leaves a lot to be desired. I saw a few things in the back that made me look away. The food is good enough to overcome it, barely. I'll order to go, eat in my car, and pretend I didn't see anything.

Fuego Sports Bar and Club

🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Two floors, two DJs
Neon birthday sign treatment
Latin and reggaeton beats
Drinks by Jody and Taylor
UFC fights then club
Fuego Sports Bar and Club is two places in one. During the UFC fights, it's a packed sports bar. After, the tables clear and the club starts. Two floors, two DJs, lots of Latin and reggaeton beats. I went for a birthday, and they got the neon sign treatment, which was cheesy but fun. Drinks are handled by Jody and Taylor, both quick and friendly. The crowd is a mix of people who came for the fight and people who came to dance. It's not a takeout spot, but I'm including it because the energy is worth the trip. Just go with friends, order a round, and let the night happen.

SAJJ Mediterranean (Sunnyvale)

🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Fresh ingredients, friendly staff
Pomegranate chicken steals the show
Customizable bowls, endless combinations
Clean space, fast takeout
Decent portions, fair value
SAJJ Mediterranean is my go-to for a fast, fresh bowl. The pomegranate chicken is the star, sweet and tangy, with a char that makes it memorable. The customizable setup means you can build endlessly, and I've never had a bad combination. The staff is friendly, the space is clean, and the takeout is fast. Portions are decent for the price, a fair trade. The hummus is a bit standard, but the chicken carries the meal. If you're near the Sunnyvale location and want something that doesn't taste like a sad desk lunch, this is it. Just don't skip the pomegranate sauce.

Cẩm Hưng Sandwich and Coffee

🌐 Website
Highlights
---
Fresh, crunchy, oversized baguettes
Curry chicken that hits
Proper Vietnamese drip coffee
Affordable lunch-break favorite
Family-run and consistent
Cẩm Hưng Sandwich and Coffee is a family-run spot that knows its bread. The baguettes are fresh, crunchy, and oversized, the way they should be. The curry chicken is a sleeper hit, rich and spicy. The Vietnamese drip coffee is properly slow and strong, a real pick-me-up. For the price, this is an affordable lunch-break favorite. I've been three times in two weeks, and it's consistent every time. The family behind the counter treats you like a regular even on your first visit. If you're in the area and need a sandwich that actually has structure, go here. You'll leave full and caffeinated.
